Hoi An

Hoi An is a small city, about 45 minutes south of Da Nang in central Vietnam. This coastal city was originally a bustling and wealthy port, home to merchants from all corners of Asia and Europe. Different cultural influences from the city's past are still visible in the ancient architecture, though Hoi An has now transitioned into a tourist hub. Visitors flock to Hoi An to buy custom-made items in the hundreds of tailors, see the lanterns light up the yellow streets, and relax at the nearby beaches.

This city has strong transport connections as one of the most popular towns in Vietnam, so getting there is no challenge. The bus is the cheapest and most efficient option (as the nearest train and airport are in Da Nang).

Bus is the cheapest option for traveling to Hoi An from nearby destinations. You can get buses from all the surrounding towns; from the north from Da Nang or Hue, and the south from Quy Nhon and Nha Trang.

From February to the end of April is the ideal time for a trip to Hoi An. At that time, the weather is cool and sunny while sometimes there is light rainfall. Therefore, it is suitable for many outdoor activities or sightseeing.

War Remnants Museum

Vietnam Military History Museum is a must-visit attraction in Hanoi, especially if you are a history enthusiast. Located in the heart of Hanoi, the Vietnam Military History Museum spans an area of 10,000 square meters. It is only a short walk away from other famous attractions, such as the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Botanical Gardens, and Uncle Ho's stilt house.

There are many ways to get to the museum, including taxis, motorbikes, and public transport. In Hanoi, many bus routes are passing by the museum, such as buses No. 9A, 18, 32, 41, etc. The bus is considered the most economical means for those who are far from the city center. You can also rent a bike from your hotel or other rental businesses to go around by yourself. Be noted that you should ask for the price and check the vehicle carefully beforehand.

The museum now holds tens of thousands of exhibits, displayed in 3 indoor and 2 outdoor areas, leading tourists through the resistance wars of the Vietnamese people. Visitors normally need 2 hours to completely explore the great collection of weapons used throughout Vietnam’s long history. These artifacts will impress you with the wisdom and patriotism of the Vietnamese army and people that led to the victories of the country, as the weapons used by the invaders were far more advanced.

Cu Chi Tunnels

Besides being the hustle and bustle of an economic hub, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) embraces historical vestiges appealing to both domestic and international tourists. Cu Chi Tunnels is one of the most significant relics of the city, offering first-hand experiences inside the massive underground cave and interesting insights into the lives of Vietnamese soldiers during the war.

Despite the far distance from the vibrant center, this suburban district is worth visiting for its several tourist destinations along with the tunnel networks, such as fresh fruit gardens, Cu Chi Water Park, and Fosaco eco-village.

Cu Chi's weather is another factor to consider before your trip. Owing to the tropical climate, Cu Chi has two distinct seasons: the rainy season (May to October) and the dry season (November to April) - the best time to visit Cu Chi Tunnels.
