UK and Europe weather forecast latest, September 29: Heavy rain and frost set to cover Britain
UK's weather forecast
According to Express, flood warnings have been issued as Britain is set to be thrashed by heavy rains and frosty temperatures.
Icy winds and freezing rain will hit the UK as the country heads towards the end of September. Temperatures could go as low as 1C this week as Monday kick off with a chilly start.
A heavy band of rain is sweeping across the UK which has sparked flood warnings and alerts to be issued in some parts of the country.
The Met office said: “A cold start to Monday morning that band of rain will gradually moving its way across Northern Ireland and into Scotland later pushing into Wales and Southwest England."
“Further east though it stays dry with plenty of sunshine so a much brighter day for eastern England compared to recently.”

The Government has issued four flood alerts and one flood warning. The River Wissey at Mundford, Stoke Ferry and Hilgay in Norfolk is expected to flood with “immediate action required”.
Flood alerts have also been put in place for other rivers in East Anglia including the tidal rivers Waveney and River Yare.
Local residents have been warned not to use low lying footpaths near the watercourses or drive along roads near the rivers.
Before the temperatures drop to freezing this week, Monday will be a fairly pleasant day for some.
The Met Office said: “Winds will be lighter too so with highs of 18 degrees it will feel that little bit warmer. Through Monday evening the rain will gradually fade away so a largely dry end to the day for most. We do have a scattering of showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland.”

But as Britain heads into the week, the weather is set to bring more wet and windy conditions.
The Met Office added: “Looking ahead to Tuesday it will be largely dry with some sunshine. But as we head towards the middle and end of the week low pressure takes charge so it’s going to turn wetter and windier for us all with a risk of gales towards the weekend.”
From Wednesday, Britain’s weather is forecast to go “downhill” according to BBC Meteorologist Tomasz Schafernaker.
He said: “Much windier conditions will be spreading across the UK. We will have lost that cold northerly wind and instead get this Atlantic westerly. So there’s milder air but with that comes a price – cloud and rain.”

Low pressure will build up mid-week, pushing a powerful jet stream across the UK. Mr Schafernaker added: “So by about Wednesday onwards the weather is really going to go downhill. Across many parts of the UK we are expecting outbreaks of rain and stronger winds."
“And from Wednesday onwards pretty much all areas are in for an unsettled spell of weather which will take us into the following weekend as well.”
