Ukraine appreciates friendship and cooperation with Vietnam

Ukrainian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevheniy Yenin spoke highly of the friendship and cooperation of his country and Vietnam in both bilateral and multilateral aspects while receiving a copy of the letter of credentials from Vietnamese Ambassador to Ukraine Nguyen Hong Thach on December 16.
According to Vietnam Plus, when welcoming the newly-accredited ambassador, Yenin said he would cooperate closely with Thach to further develop bilateral relations. He emphasized several initiatives from Ukraine to set up closer relations with ASEAN and proposed Vietnam continue supporting and working with the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to speed up the implementation of these initiatives.
The Ukrainian official extended his gratitude to Vietnamese organizations, businesses, and individuals for providing substantial and timely assistance to help Ukraine cope with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Yenin affirmed that he would work closely with the Vietnamese ambassador to further develop bilateral relations in the future, Nhan Dan cited.
For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach pledged during his term to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, relevant agencies, and businesses of Ukraine to enhance the relationship between the two countries, reported by VOV.
Highlighting the important role of the Vietnamese community in Ukraine in enhancing relations between the two countries, he asked the Ukrainian government to create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community there to lead more stable lives and make a greater contribution to Ukraine’s socio-economic development, as well as remaining an effective bridge for Vietnam-Ukraine cooperation.
Ukraine and Vietnam historically have traditionally friendly relations. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on January 23, 1992. Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Ukraine started its operations in 1993. The embassy of Ukraine in Vietnam was opened in 1997.
One of the successful areas of Ukrainian-Vietnamese cultural and humanitarian cooperation is education. Presidents of both countries supported the idea to launch the study and teaching of the Ukrainian language in the universities of Vietnam and the Vietnamese language in the universities of Ukraine, according to The Embassy of Ukraine in Vietnam.
