At the meeting, the ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach underscored the role of the Vietnamese community in Ukraine in fostering solidarity and cooperation between the two countries, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The representatives briefed the Ambassador on the organizational structure and activities of the community and the challenges caused by COVID-19 that overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine have faced.
The Ambassador encouraged Vietnamese ex-pats in Ukraine to promote solidarity to overcome the difficulties triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic and change business forms and measures to adapt to the new situation.
He asserted that the Embassy will be always side by side and supports the Vietnamese community in the country.

The meeting took place in an open and cozy atmosphere, contributing to building a stable and united Vietnamese community.
Earlier, in response to the call of the General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Vietnamese Embassy in Ukraine cooperated with Vietnamese communities in the country to launch programs to support flood-hit people in the Central provinces.
The program received enthusiastic responses from the Vietnamese community, especially people in big cities such as Kyiv, Odessa and Kharkiv. Hundreds of collectives and individuals joined hands to share with the difficulties and losses of central people. As of October 31, the total amount of donation reached 17,429 USD.
