Ukrainian Artists Create  Artworks to Celebrate Bilateral Relations
Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Thach grants a gift to Ukrainian artists.

Vietnam Embassy to Ukraine coordinated with the National Union of Artists of Ukraine to organize an exhibition of paintings about Vietnam in Kyiv on Feb. 10.

The event marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Ukraine (January 23, 1992 - January 23, 2022).

Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach, diplomatic missions in Kyiv, Head of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Yenheniy Vadymovych Bragar, representatives of Ukrainian ministries, Kiev government attended the ceremony.

Head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine Cherniavskyy Kostiantyn Volodymyrovych said that the union and the Vietnamese embassy launched a painting campaign on the theme of Vietnam among Ukrainian painters in October 2021.

In a short time, many artists from all over Ukraine have responded and sent works to the exhibition, which opens for the public to admire the beauty of both Vietnam and Ukraine.

Stating that culture and art have no borders. Cherniavskyy expressed his belief that cultural diplomacy was an effective bridge to connect countries and build a better world.

Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach thanked the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Gorchakov Cultural Foundation, Kostiantyn Cherniavskyy, and Andrey Gorchakov for their efforts to organize the event.

The exhibition attracted more than 90 Ukrainian painters with abouy 120 paintings about the country and people of Vietnam, ahead of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach mentioned the saying "each picture is worth more than a thousand words" to stress the role of the paintings in bringing the two peoples closer.

Paintings at the exhibition tell profound and poetic stories about the country and people of Vietnam through the artistic and creative perspectives of Ukrainian artists.

Ambassador Nguyen Hong Thach appreciated the achievements of the two countries over the past 30 years.

Ukraine is currently among 30 comprehensive strategic partners of Vietnam, while Vietnam is of the top five trade partners of Ukraine in Asia.

Ambassador of Vietnam Nguyen Hong Thach spoke at the exhibition.

Yenheniy Vadymovych Bragar, head of the Ukrainian Parliamentary Friendship Group with Vietnam emphasized the importance of the Vietnam - Ukraine friendship.

He said that he was most impressed with the painting of an overseas Vietnamese girl in ao dai.

Over the past 30 years, Vietnam and Ukraine have accompanied each other, becoming each other's important political and economic partners.

Cultural diplomacy will contribute to the development of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation between the two countries.

Andrey Gorchakov - Executive Vice President of the Gorchakov Cultural Foundation said he believed that culture and art played an important role in uniting, erasing differences, building trust and creating a bright future for all peoples.

The exhibition will be open to the public for free from February 10 to 27, 2022 at the headquarters of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, 1-5 Sichovykh Striltsiv, Kyiv.

After that, it will be held in other big cities of Ukraine.
