Vietnam Actively Participated in Greater Mekong Subregion's Economic Cooperation
Vietnam has actively participated in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) from its inception. Since 1992, when it first joined, the Prime Minister assigned the State Planning Commission (now the Ministry of Planning and Investment) to lead and coordinate with relevant ministries and agencies in studying the orientation, content, and forms of participation in sub-regional economic cooperation.
