The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations awarded two charity houses, each worth VND 70 million to Hoang Thi Lanh (in Trieu Van commune, Trieu Phong district) and Nguyen Thi Quy (in Gio Son commune, Gio Linh district). Lanh is a former youth volunteer, while Quy is the wife of a martyr. They are both at a senior age, in difficult living and helth circumstances.
The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations also awarded 50 scholarships to children of families of wounded, sick soldiers and martyrs with a total value of VND 190 million.
Funding for the program is provided by the Program Management Board to Support Wounded, Sick Soldiers and Agent Orange Victims, People in Poverty and Students in Difficult Circumstances in Vietnam and MCNV, a Dutch organization.

Previously, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations offered incense and flowers at Truong Son Martyrs Cemetery, Quang Tri Ancient Citadel, and visited historical relics, including Thach Han River, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge.
