Presidium Conference Concludes with Unanimous Vote

The Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) held the 10th Presidium Conference of the 6th session for the 2019-2024 term in Hanoi on July 10. After thorough discussions and contributions, 100% of the Presidium members voted to approve the important reports presented at the conference.

The conference was attended by Presidium members of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations, representatives from the Organization Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for Internal Affairs, and the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs.

In his opening remarks at the conference, President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Phan Anh Son said that the conference focused on discussing four key issues, including the dismissal and additional election of Presidium members; report on work results for the first half of the year, key tasks for the second half of 2024; report on preparations for the 7th National Congress; and report on the process of restructuring the leadership of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.

The Presidium members assessed that in the first six months, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations closely followed the year’s key tasks, proactively implemented many important activities, introduced numerous innovations and creativity, and made various suggestions and proposals to better prepare for the 7th National Congress.

These activities aim to enhance the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy in the coming time, such as emphasizing the core role of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations in people-to-people diplomacy in the theme of the 7th Congress; coordinating with related ministries and sectors to supplement resources for the activities of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations; establishing local friendship groups led directly by the local unions; and strengthening the connection between the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and local unions.

At the conference, 100% of the Presidium members voted to approve the reports on dismissal and additional election of Presidium members; report on work results for the first half of the year, key tasks for the second half of 2024; report on preparations for the 7th National Congress; and the report on the process of restructuring the leadership of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations.

On July 9, the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations held the 9th Conference of the 6th term Standing Committee, for the 2019-2024 tenure. The conference focused on discussing four issues, including the report on work results for the first half of the year, key tasks for the second half of 2024; the report on dismissal and additional election of Presidium members of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations; report on preparations for the 7th National Congress; and report on the process of restructuring the leadership of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations to present at the 10th Presidium Conference on July 10.

After discussions, the conference’s delegates unanimously approved the Resolution of the 9th Conference of the Standing Committee, 6th session, 2019-2024 tenure.
