According to the index, Vietnam scored 4.37 points out of 10 to climb from 14th place to 9th in this year's Top 50 "Digital Nations" ranking.
India retained its top position in the global digital ranking, followed by the U.S., Brazil, Canada, U.K., the Philippines, Russia, and Mexico. Singapore trailed behind Vietnam to complete the top 10 list.
In terms of Top 100 “Super Cities” ranking, Ho Chi Minh city ranked 52sn, a drop from last year's 39th. Meanwhile, Hanoi also went down from rank 31st last year to 49th.
India's Bangalore continued to top the super city ranking this year. Brazil's Sao Paulo came in second, followed by Canada's Toronto, the Philippines' Manila, and Ireland's Dublin to complete the top 5.
“Successful companies are re-designing their consumer experience, brining in innovative solutions, and using AI and Intelligent Automation. Leadership will be defined by innovation and entrepreneurship”, Ankita Vashistha, President, Tholons was quoted by KTVN as saying.
The report also stressed that the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has "decimated the traditional businesses" and working from home would become a new normal. Enterprises that have been embracing innovative technologies are said to have done completely well. Companies around the globe are suggested to incorporate artificial intelligence into their innovative solutions.
