Vietnam always treasures, remembers and is deeply grateful for the timely and heartfelt provided by the China's Party, Government, people and army, he said.
Chien said that the commission and ministry are undertaking a review to preserve the cemeteries of fallen soldiers and the graves of Chinese experts who supported Vietnam's revolution.
He took this occasion to invite Chinese veterans to visit Vietnam for the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's Defence Day later this year.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son echoed this sentiment, reiterating the profound gratitude of the Vietnamese Party, Government, army and people for the sincere and effective assistance provided by their Chinese counterparts, not only during the past struggles for national independence but also in the ongoing process of socialism building and national development.

In turn, Zhang Wenbin, head of the delegation of Chinese veterans and experts, representing Chinese veterans, reminisced about years in Vietnam, sharing that he and his comrades left their homeland, with the spirit of not fearing hardship and danger, fighting shoulder to shoulder with the Vietnam People's Army. Half a century has passed, and their hairs now have turned gray, but they still do not forget their noble mission: Fostering the China-Vietnam friendship. Three generations of Zhang's family have devoted themselves to this friendship.
He hopes that China and Vietnam will always stand side by side, writing a new chapter in the friendship between the two countries.
