Vietnamese 107- year-old grandmother donates her life savings to COVID-19 fund

Phan donates her life savings to the fund for COVID-19 prevention and control |
On the morning of April 29, the Fatherland Front Committee of Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province said the agency had received a VND 10 million donation to the fund for COVID-18 prevention and control from an elderly lady.
She is Nguyen Thi Phan, 107 years old, residing in Vinh Thanh quarter, Trung Son ward, Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province.
Through news reports, Phan was touched by the solidarity and cooperation of all community to fight against the COVID-19, she decided to spent all her life savings to donate.

Phan is not the first elderly person to join hands in the fight against the COVID-19.
Earlier, Vietnamese were touched as seeing a 95-year-old woman sewing free face masks for the poor in Ho Chi Minh city. Or an 87-year-old elderly donated her life savings to COVID-19 fund in Quang Ngai province.
National solidarity is said to be the key for Vietnam’s success in the fight against the COVID-19. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on April 29 said the country had basically fought off the pandemic.
