Speaking at the book donation ceremony, Nguyen Tien Thanh, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of Vietnam Education Publishing House said: "The donation of Vietnamese books is not only important in developing a reading culture and improving the ability to use Vietnamese in the Vietnamese community abroad, Vietnamese books also contribute to raising national pride, promoting cultural exchange activities, and promoting the image of Vietnam internationally."

During nearly 70 years of development, the publishing house has constantly focused on and maintained community-based programs to bring practical benefits to society. Its products have been accompanied by many generations of students, teachers, and readers across the country.

Dinh Hoang Linh, Consul General of Vietnam in Khon Kaen, said more than 100,000 Vietnamese are residing in 20 provinces in the Northeast of Thailand. The publishing house's Vietnamese books will be a valuable gift in preserving their mother tongue and culture.

The Consul General highlighted the significance of the first Vietnamese street in Udon Thani, Northeast Thailand, as both a source of pride and a reminder of the responsibility to invest in similar projects. These streets help to create cultural spaces, promote the Vietnamese language, and uphold traditional values, thereby spreading Vietnamese humanistic ideals.

Additionally, the Consul General expressed confidence that domestic agencies, particularly the Vietnam Education Publishing House, will play a crucial role in supporting this meaningful initiative and contributing to the development of the Vietnamese community abroad.

At the book donation ceremony, leaders from the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken discussed plans to expand cooperation. They aim to organize Vietnamese language training courses in the area to enhance the preservation and development of the Vietnamese language and culture for overseas Vietnamese in 20 northeastern provinces of Thailand.

Starting in 2022, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Vietnam Education Publishing House initiated the "Vietnamese Bookshelf" project for Vietnamese communities in various countries and territories. In 2023, the Vietnamese Bookshelf was donated to communities in places like Fukuoka (Japan), Budapest (Hungary), Taiwan (China), Paris (France), Prague, and Brno (Czech Republic). By 2024, the initiative had earned the Second Prize for Valuable Foreign Information Product at the 10th National Foreign Information Awards Ceremony.
