What are the significant achievements in preserving and spreading the Vietnamese language around the world made by the Vietnam Education Publishing House?

Vietnam Education Publishing House not only ensures adequate, synchronized, and timely supply of textbooks and instructional products to serve students, teachers, and a large number of readers nationwide but also compiled and published many documents on the Vietnamese language, literature, culture, history... internationally, like a number of books teaching language to Vietnamese people abroad, namely Tieng Viet Vui and Que Viet.

Since 2018, the Vietnam Education Publishing House has had many meetings with relevant units to survey the needs of the Vietnamese community abroad. We also assign member units to carry out scientific research projects, participate in expert seminars, to select appropriate subjects and approaches to the current actual situation. From the results of research and surveys, together with book author Nguyen Thuy Anh, we have compiled and published the book "Hello Vietnamese" for the community abroad.

Currently, we are compiling quality topics to preserve the Vietnamese language and introduce and spread Vietnamese culture to readers in all five continents.

What activities has the Vietnam Education Publishing House implemented to celebrate "Day for Honoring Vietnamese Language in Vietnamese Communities Abroad"?

Vietnam Education Publishing House signed a "Cooperation Agreement on coordinating the implementation of activities supporting and improving the effectiveness of teaching and learning Vietnamese for overseas communities, preserving and promoting national cultural identity in the period 2023 - 2030" with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs.

Based on the Agreement, many activities have been implemented such as, organizing events to commemorate the Day of Honoring Vietnamese Language in the Vietnamese community abroad in 2023, training and sharing methods of teaching and learning in the Vietnamese community abroad, and maintaining technical support groups for "Hello Vietnamese" teachers. We also give Vietnamese bookshelves to representative agencies abroad in a number of countries with large Vietnamese communities, provide support, and provide Vietnamese teaching materials and support for communities in many parts of the world.

Vietnam Education Publishing House's publications have reached many countries around the world such as Germany, Austria, Hungary, Slovakia, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Russia, Qatar, Korea, Japan, Malaysia, and China..., which contribute to language education in the Vietnamese community abroad.

We also coordinated with VTV4 Foreign Television Department to produce a weekly television program called "Hello Vietnamese" (based on the book series "Hello Vietnamese") from April 2023 on VTV4 channel and digital platforms.

What are the Vietnam Education Publishing House's upcoming activities to continue spreading the love for the Vietnamese language aboard?

In 2024, the Vietnam Education Publishing House and the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese will promote the achievements mentioned above. We will continue the "Vietnamese Bookshelf" model and bring Vietnamese books into the public library system in countries and territories, serving the public's demand. We will conduct research to digitize Vietnamese documents and introduce quality books to the Vietnamese community abroad.

Together with the Foreign Television Department (Vietnam Television) VTV4, we will continue to implement the television program "Hello Vietnamese"and research to develop more teaching and learning products and reference materials. These activities helps the Vietnamese community abroad to preserve their mother tongue, to learn more about their home country.

We also continue to work on the next levels of the Hello Vietnamese book series, to provide quality teaching materials according to the 6 levels of program competency issued by Vietnam's Ministry of Education and Training. At the same time, we will continue to research to develop an ecosystem of products that can support the teaching and learning of Vietnamese abroad, especially those in special areas.
