Within the program of planning and developing traditional craft villages in Thua Thien Hue to 2020, with a vision for 2025, the Center for Cultural Preservation and Economic Development has cooperated with Lan Vy Thi Nguyen (Vietnamese origin, US national) to launch the project "Support for design and marketing for artisans and traditional craft villages in Thua Thien Hue" in 2022.

The project has total funding of 50,000 USD (VND 1,140,000), provided as a non-refundable aid from Lan Vy Thi Nguyen, and has been approved by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue according to regulations.

The project aims to support artisans, traditional craft villages, and individual and family businesses to improve product value, and quality and diversify designs so that artisans and traditional craft villages familiarize themselves with design orders. Thereby, they earn experience to work with future clients to preserve and develop sustainable traditional craftsmanship.

The project plans to support 150 to 200 artisans, craft villages, businesses, and cooperatives in the province. It focuses on Zeng textile cooperatives in A Luoi district, which are the direct beneficiaries of the non-project aid.
