Vietnamese Handicrafts, Cuisine Introduced in Brasilia's Charity Bazaar

Vietnamese handicrafts and traditional cuisine have been introduced at the International Food and Culture Bazaar held at the Brasilia Art Museum in Brazil.
Organized by the group of spouses of chiefs of mission, the event attracts the participation of 35 embassies from across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Middle East.
On display throughout the 45 booths are a wide range of handicrafts and typical food products of each country.

The bazaar aimed to raise funds for three charitable organizations including the center provides showers, haircuts and clean clothes for the homeless in Brasilia (Banho do Bem); the center provides training courses for poor women in the Ceilândia area of the capital (Casa da Esperanca); Center for social education and care for more than 300 street children and youth in the Guará region of the capital (Centro Socio-educativo Sto. Anibal- Maria).
It attracted more than 3,000 visitors, including many from other South American countries.

At the Vietnamese booth, visitors enjoyed choosing unique and creative handicraft products created by the skillful hands of Vietnamese people such as lacquered and mother of pearl inlay coconut bowls, embroidered “non la” (conical hat), and silk scarves.
The local diners can once again enjoy the delicious and rich flavor of traditional and folk Vietnamese dishes such as fried spring rolls, banana cakes and iced tea, alongside various books, magazines and photos introducing life, nature and people of Vietnam.
