Vietnamese Innovation Network in Europe Established

A ceremony to launch the Vietnamese Innovation Network in Europe (VINEU) was held in Paris, France on Nov. 4.
The network's main activities include consultant and training, investment and business connection, development of a community of scientific and technological intellectuals.
The in-person event was held in the Vietnam Embassy to France. Virtual events were held in more than 20 countries.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from the ministry of foreign affairs, ministry of science and technology, ministry of education and training, Vietnam embassies to European countries, intellectual communities, enterprises, and universities.
Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Chi Dung said: "Witnessing the establishment of VINEU, and the effort of Vietnamese young intellectuals in European countries, I appreciate your enthusiasm and effort to gather a large number of experts, intellectuals and successfully hold the INNOCITY and launch the VINEU."
"This is the passion of young people who want to participate and contribute to general innovation activities for Vietnamese youth worldwide. You form a great resource for the country to catch up with, walk with and surpass other countries in many fields in the future. You will create and realize the aspirations of Vietnam."

Nguyen Viet Anh, head of VINEU introduced the network's vision, working plan, and members of the executive board.
He said the VINEU operated as a non-profitable organization to promote Vietnam to be a developed country through innovation, science and technology, building Vietnam into the center for global innovation.
The network connects Vietnamese experts in Europe, creating a forum for them to share their experience, research markets and trends in the host countries and the world, á well as update the newest science, technology research and technique.
It also connects businesses, investors, and encourages startups. It promotes relations in science and technology, diplomacy, economy, commerce between Vietnam and European countries.
Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC, said he hoped that the network was the solid first step for intellectuals to bring concrete results to promote innovation in Vietnam.
NIC will continue to be VINUE's sponsor. The center will connect activities held by VINUE's component networks to promote the knowledge resources of Vietnamese people worldwide, he said.
