Vietnamese-Korean Business Community Praised for Stronger Trade and Relations in 2021

In the special occasion of Lunar New Year, The Vietnam-Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) organized the VKBIA Youth Union 2022 for the Vietnamese-Korean business community.

The VKBIA reunion 2022 will be held simultaneously in face-to-face and online in Seoul (Korea), Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam). Attended the ceremony were affiliated branches across regions in Vietnam - Korea, and representatives of businesses, investors and representatives of the public.

VKBIA actively participated in the epidemic prevention and quick response

In his opening speech, Dr. Tran Hai Linh, Chairman of the Vietnam - Korea Business and Investment Association (VKBIA) stated: “In the past year 2021, the connection of trade and exchange between people of the two countries still face many difficulties due to the epidemic. But that became the motivation for VKBIA to continue implementing and participating in organizing activities and programs to contribute to stronger trade and better relations between the two countries.

He continued by mentioning that VKBIA quickly actively supported and mobilized the Vietnamese community in Korea to support through various forms as soon as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh announced the decision to establish the COVID-19 vaccine fund.

At the same time, the Association mobilizes Korean agencies, organizations, businesses in Vietnam, friends and partners to continue supporting Vietnam's Vaccine Fund and join hands in the fight against the pandemic in the homeland.

From June 2021 til now, VKBIA volunteer team and associates have actively participated in the epidemic prevention and quick response teams.

They visited, encouraged and donated necessities and medical supplies for frontline agencies in epidemic prevention and control in many areas in Ho Chi Minh City and other southern provinces.

More, VKBIA supported necessary food supplies for isolation, blockade and child has difficulty.

The total value of gifts to support COVID-19 prevention and control is now more than VND 40 billion (US $ 1.7 million). VKBIA has been making suggestions and proposals to leaders of the State Party and the Fatherland Front along with local leaders in disease prevention and economic recovery in the new normal.

Developing the Vietnam-Korea friendly cooperative relationship

Kim Seok Pil - Vice Chairman of VKBIA Association, former VP of Samsung Group, General Director of Samsung Europe added that Korean businesses continue to make important contributions to Vietnam's economy. In the economic field, Korea ranks first in investment, second in ODA and trade.

In the field of tourism, South Korea is Vietnam's second largest key tourist supplier market with strong promotion policies such as the "Strengthening New Southern Policy", in which Vietnam is valued as a key tourist destination and a strategic partner.

"The achievements in the relationship between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea, which have been achieved after 30 years of developing the relationship, are enormous and there is still plenty of room for further development in all fields. more in the near future, said Kim.

At the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee - Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien recognized, praised and awarded the Certificate of Merit to VKBIA and 2 individuals, for their outstanding achievements in overseas Vietnamese work, contributing to building and consolidating the homeland.

Ta Thi Thuy - Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in Korea vowed: "VKBIA will make more efforts with the Embassy to contribute to the common goal of developing the Vietnam-Korea friendly cooperative relationship on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Korea diplomatic relations. I wish the VKBIA and the Vietnamese - Korean business community to constantly grow to be a role model with many achievements in the future."

Despite the complicated situation of the global epidemic, the VKIBIA Association has made important achievements, promoting the exchange and cooperation between Vietnam and Korean agencies, organizations, businesses, entrepreneurs... as well as Vietnam and other countries around the world. VKBIA contributes to Linking - accompanying - developing with other Vietnamese Union organizations abroad, to strengthening the great national unity bloc, jointly carrying out meaningful activities towards the homeland, to supporting economic recovery, socio-economic development between the two countries.
