Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian Youth Share Initiatives on Covid-19

The opening ceremony took place on Oct. 22 in three countries. Within the framework of the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia youth exchange program, the delegates will participate in discussions on 3 topics: Youth of Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia joining hands to cultivate friendship and solidarity; Youth volunteering to participate in the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic, for social security; Enhancing digital capacity for young people in the three countries.
In addition, the delegates will watch three online projects, and innovative youth start-up models: Project "Development of banana fiber industry by ABACA technology"; Model of essential oil production of An Van Tuan, Van Ban district, Lao Cai province; Project "Establishment of Thuong Lam Cooperative with the construction of homestay on stilts in combination with freshwater fish farming to serve tourists."
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Nguyen Ngoc Luong, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF), said the program would become a bridge connecting the youth of the three countries, contributing to strengthening traditional friendship and cooperation of the three countries Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia.
In the past two years, the Youth Union and the Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Youth Union have overcome difficulties, and had many initiatives for contacting, exchanging information and supporting each other.
Their high-level phone calls, support activities to ensure social welfare and fight the pandemic, and the youth exchange demonstrate their strong and close-knit friendship.
President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia Hun Many and Vice Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union Thoong Chan Phu Mu Phan think that the program is a practical activity to strengthen the friendship and solidarity of the young people of the three countries.
The delegates also informed each other of their country's Covid-19 prevention and control situation and appreciated Vietnam's support activities for each country.

Thoong Chan Phu Mu Phan believes that the relationship of the three countries is a rare asset that needs to be preserved and promoted.
The youth of the three countries should increasingly strengthen solidarity; cooperation and exchange experiences to help each other not only in the fields of economy - society, security and defense, but also in investment and tourism development.
Hun Many wishes that the youth of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia continue to support each other in the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic. He also hopes that the pandemic will soon be repelled, so that the exchange program can be carried out directly between the youth of the three countries.
