At the meeting, Phan Anh Son conveyed his happiness regarding the Government of the Republic of Nicaragua establishing its Embassy in Vietnam. Phan Anh Son noted that 2024 commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Nicaragua (September 1979 - September 2024). He highlighted that the former leaders of Vietnam and Nicaragua shared viewpoints about national liberation and development. The Vietnamese people hold warm sentiments towards Nicaragua and its citizens, which serves as a significant base for both nations to further strengthen and deepen their ties.
The President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations stated that there is significant potential for Vietnam and Nicaragua to develop diplomatic and people-to-people relations. He looks to work with the Nicaraguan Embassy in Vietnam to introduce and connect partners, share information, and foster exchanges and cooperation among localities, businesses, experts, scholars, and artists from both countries.
According to Nicaraguan Ambassador Mario José Armengol Campos, the Nicaraguan government considers Vietnam an important partner. Nicaraguan people admire Vietnam's previous struggle for national liberation and current economic development. The Vietnam - Nicaragua Friendship Association was established in 1984, when Nicaragua needed support from international friends, demonstrating the deep affection and attachment between the two peoples.
The Embassy of Nicaragua is ready to cooperate with the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations and Vietnamese agencies and partners to further tighten political and diplomatic relations between the two states; and consolidate the solidarity and attachment between the two peoples of Vietnam and Nicaragua.
