	Vietnamese alumni ready to help Cuba during COVID-19

The message to the world movement of solidarity with Cuba from the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) was delivered to the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association's Standing Committee by Cuban Ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera on April 4. As of April 29, in response to the message, the President of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations sent a letter to the President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez Llort.

"To: Comrade Fernando Gonzalez Llort - President of Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP)

In the context of the novel Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic's complex development in the world claiming hundred thousands of lives, the world's people including Vietnamese people share Cuba's difficulties, highly appreciate Cuba's efforts in the disease prevention, as well as the fair-minded international spirit of Cuba in sending more than 1,000 health professionals to help and support many countries around the world to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.

We strongly support the international community's resolutions requiring the US Government to immediately raise the economic, trade and financial blockades imposed against Cuba. That unreasonable policy has prevented Cuba from receiving vital supplies and medical equipment for the COVID-19 fight in Cuba recently.

The Vietnamese people consistently support Cuban people's fight for their just cause and always stand by Cuban people to overcome difficulties.

The Union of Friendship and Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association have organized a number of solidarity activities in support of Cuba in recent years. The Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association cored by the Vietnam Alumni Club in Cuba and Cuban lovers, have been campaigning to support the Cuban people to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic with over vnd 1.5 billion in cash (USD 52,000) collected.

We absolutely believe that the Cuba Communist Party and State's wise guidance, the Cuban Government's effective administration , with Cuban people's belief , will and the strength will enable Cuba to overcome all difficulties and defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, continue successfully implementing the socialist and economic model's upgrading process , opening a new development stage for a sovereignty and independent nation basing on its socialism, democracy, prosperity and sustainability.
