Vietnamese Women in Europe Gives Mid-Autumn Gifts to Orphaned Children
The Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe on September 24 handed over Mid-Autumn gifts to 50 orphans in Thanh Chuong district of the central province of Nghe An.
To support the orphans, the Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe in June 2023, called for participation in an adoption program initiated by the Vietnam Women’s Union, with participants adopting more than 50 orphans.

On the occasion of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, the Forum donated 50 gift packages (each worth VND 500,000 (USD 20) including mooncakes and cash) to orphaned children in difficult circumstances.
Representatives of the authorities, Fatherland Front, and Women's Union of Thanh Chuong district, on behalf of the forum's members, presented gifts to the children.
Receiving gifts on behalf of the children, Nguyen Doan Hai An thanked the Vietnamese aunts and uncles in Europe for loving and caring for them.
Dinh Thi Han, chairwoman of Thanh Chuong District Women's Association, also expressed her gratitude to the forum members' hearts towards difficult life situations in the locality.

Meanwhile, Phan Bich Thien, head of the Forum's Executive Board, said that although the call had not yet been launched, within just a few hours, forum members in European countries such as Hungary, the Czech Republic, Germany, France, Netherlands, and Spain together supported 50 gifts for children in Nghe An province and donated VND 30 million (USD 1,230) to the Mid-Autumn Festival gift-giving program for children in difficult circumstances.
The Mid-Autumn Festival gift-giving program for orphans will become an annual activity of the Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe. Members of the forum hope to bring some joy to orphans during the Mid-Autumn Festival - a special occasion for the children.
President of the Vietnam Red Cross Bui Thi Hoa, who directly attended the Vietnamese Women's Forum in Europe in June 2023 in Budapest, sent her thanks for the kindness of Vietnamese women in Europe towards their children in their homeland.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which falls on September 29 this year. Many activities are held for children during the festival, including the decoration of fruit trays, lantern parades, lion dances, and gift-giving.
