Vietnamese Women in Germany Aid Victims of Hanoi Apartment Fire
A ceremony took place on September 27 to hand over more than VND 112 million (USD 4.500) from the Vietnam Women's Union in Germany to the victims of the tragic fire at Thanh Xuan district's mini apartment.
Khong Minh Thao, chairman of Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front Committee thanked the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs for recently connecting overseas Vietnamese from many countries to assist the fire victims.
He also thanked the loving hearts of members of the Vietnamese Women's Union in Germany and affirmed that their support sum would soon reach the victims through the district's Fatherland Front.

In recent weeks, Thanh Xuan District Fatherland Front has received positive sharing and contributions from people across the country and abroad to join hands to help the fire victims overcome the severe consequences.
Thao said that the Thanh Xuan Fatherland Front is actively advising and proposing plans to Hanoi to support victims' families from the money donated by people at home and abroad such as housing, welfare and education fee for victims' families.
Last week, the Vietnamese community in Poland also presented VND 153 million (USD 6.200) to support the victims of the blaze.
The tragic fire in a mini apartment block in Khuong Dinh ward, Thanh Xuan district of Hanoi, claimed the lives of 56 people and injured 37, making it the most deadly fire incident in the country in recent years.
