VUFO Cooperates with Organizations to Boost Vietnam - Russia Friendship Exchanges
On Dec. 1, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) Nguyen Phuong Nga met with many Russian organizations and strategic partners in order to strengthen solidarity, cooperation and exchange between the peoples of the two countries.

In particular, VUFO President and the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association, along with the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russia organized the awarding ceremony of the most prestigious medal and award for contributions of 16 outstanding individuals of the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association.
They are crucial companions to the activities of the Association, contributing to preserving, developing and strengthening the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam - Russia people.
This is an important highlight in friendship exchange activities of VUFO within the framework of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's official visit to Russia.
President Nguyen Xuan Phuc also joined VUFO at the special Medal Awarding Ceremony.
Other attendants included Do Xuan Hoang - Chairman of the Vietnam People Association in Russia, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association; the representatives of leaders of the European Commission; and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia.

As honoref guest, VUFO President spoke at the event and acknowledged the contributions of individuals from the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association and the Russian Veterans Association during the war in Vietnam.
She affirmed that the awardees played important roles in cultivating, preserving and developing friendly relationship between the two countries.

Over the years, these diplomats have achieved a number of outstanding activities, such as completing a project to build the monument for heroic astronaut of the Soviet Union - Gherman Titov, who is also Vietnam Hero of Labor and former Chairman of the Soviet-Vietnamese Friendship Association; organizing annual international children arts contest "I draw Vietnam - I draw Russia"; and organizing the translation and publication of many Vietnamese - Russian bilingual books.
These achievements show the many aspects of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Russia.
On this occasion, President Nguyen Phuong Nga expressed her gratitude towards Buyanov Vladimir Petrovich, Kolesnik Nikolai Nikolaevich and all members of the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association as well as the Russian Veterans Association and Vietnamese Embassy in Russia.
They have coordinated effectively in the implementation of people-to-people diplomacy activities in the two countries, the VUFO president affirmed.
She hoped to continue to the close coordination in the future. To do so, she proposed VUFO continue being the communication mediator between the peoples of the two countries, together with Vietnam - Russia friendship organizations to take the comprehensive strategic bilateral partnership to a new height.
In response, leaders of the associations expressed positive outlook on VUFO's proposal and appreciated the affection and respect that the Vietnamese people always have for their Russian friends. The diplomats affirmed that they would penetrate further with active contributions.
At the event, Do Xuan Hoang - member of the presidium of VUFO and Vladimir Buianov, chairman of the Russia - Vietnam Friendship Association exchanged a cooperation agreement between the two organizations for 2020-2025.

On Dec, 2, VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga had a meeting with Evgheny Primakov, director of the Russian Cooperation Agency (Rossotrudnichestvo) to discuss promoting Russia - Vietnam cooperation, with the theme "Traditional and friendly relations."
Do Xuan Hoang contributed to the discussions saying that it was necessary to educate the young generation to continue the friendship traditions between the two countries to realize mutual benefits.
He proposed building a statue of an engineer-expert as a symbol of Vietnam-Russia friendship in peacekeeping.
In response, Evghenhi Primacov recognized VUFO's unremitting effort and achievements, especially in the work with the Center for Russian Culture and Science in Hanoi.
The two leaders of leading diplomatic agencies believed that this meeting was a premise for new developments in people-to-people exchange.
