104th Anniversary of Russian October Revolution Marked in Vietnam
November 7, 2021 marked the 104th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, which was led by Vladimir Lenin and marked the beginning of the spread of communism in the 20th century.

A delegation of authorities in Hanoi and agencies and organizations of the city on Nov. 5 laid flowers at the statue of Vladimir Ilych Lenin in Chi Lang Park to mark the 104th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution.
The delegation was led by Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Ngoc Anh.
It is an annual activity of Hanoi to express gratitude to Lenin, who is one of the leading political figures and revolutionary thinkers of the 20th century. He masterminded the Bolshevik take-over of power in Russia in 1917 and also was the architect and first leader of the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR).
On the same day, at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), a meeting was held to celebrate the 104th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution, the 71st anniversary of the Vietnam-Russia friendship relationship and the first anniversary of the establishment of VNU's friendship chapter.
According to VNU vice president Pham Bao Son, the establishment of the VNU's Vietnam-Russia Friendship Branch contributes to strengthening the traditional cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Russia in higher education and scientific research.
Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko said that despite being affected by Covid-19, cooperation between Russia and Vietnam is still developing in all fields, the leaders of the two countries will continue to maintain partnerships with more collaborative content.
The ambassador believes that with the upcoming visit to Russia by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the cooperation relationship between the two countries will be raised to a new height.
Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Chapter at VNU, Nguyen Dinh Duc briefed his the delegates about the chapter, stressing that it is a large and strong collective. More specifically, VNU is also a rare educational and training institution in Vietnam that continues to maintain a Russian language department, a Russian reading room, Russian language teaching from high school and has an international associate program, training bachelor's degree in informatics and computer engineering.

In Lang Son province, a cultural exchange program to celebrate the 104th anniversary of the Russian October Revolution was organized on Nov. 6 by the provincial Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association. The event was attended by Director of the Russian Center of Science and Culture in Hanoi, Victor Stepanov, who gave a welcome speech and sent good wishes to the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Lang Son.
At the same time, a friendly meeting took place with leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs under the People's Committee of Lang Son, the two sides discussed cooperation issues between the province and the center, especially in the field of education.

A gather marking the October Revolution of Russia also took place in Phu Yen province on Nov. 7.
Opening the event, chairman of the Phu Yen's Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association Nguyen Dac Tan highlighted the historic significance of the October Revolution to peace, national independence and social progress of peoples worldwide, including the Vietnamese.
Vice Chairman of Phu Yen Provincial People's Committee Dao My affirmed the historical significance of the Russian October Revolution; the sincere help of the Soviet people, the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Russia. At the same time, he highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association in Phu Yen province in recent years.
My suggested that the association continue to renew and improve the quality of its activities and educate the young generation on the Vietnam-Russia friendship; continue to stick to political tasks, renew and improve the effectiveness of people's foreign affairs in the new situation.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association presented 20 medals to officials and members who made great contributions to the association's work and built the Vietnam - Russia relations; awarded certificates of merit to three individuals with many achievements in the association's work.
