Vessel 251 of the Vietnam People’s Navy’s Naval Region 5 on the morning of June 15 returned to the Kien Giang province based-Region 5 port, successfully ending the 75th joint patrol with Vessel 1141 of Ream Naval Base of the Royal Cambodia Navy.
Previously, on June 14, in the Vietnam-Cambodia waters, Vessel 251 and Vessel 1141 conducted the 75th annual joint patrol according to the regulation on joint patrol coordination and established a communication channel between the Vietnam People's Army and the Royal Cambodian Navy, signed by the Navy Commanders of the two countries on September 14, 2002.

During the patrol, the two sides performed a saluting ceremony called Hello ASEAN - a saluting ceremony at sea between naval ships of ASEAN member states, exchanging information and exercising hand-flag, signal lamp and rescue practice using the Code for Unplanned Encounters at Sea (CUES).
During the patrol, via a communications channel, the naval forces of the two countries have proactively informed and encouraged the two sides’ fishermen to strictly comply with the laws and regulations when they exploit seafood in the historical waters without violations of the sovereignty of another country.

With careful preparation and close coordination, the 75th joint patrol between the Vietnam People's Navy and the Royal Cambodian Navy was a success which would contribute to maintaining the social security, peace and stability in the historical waters between Vietnam and Cambodia, facilitating favorable conditions for people of two nations to develop maritime economy; strengthening and promoting bilateral relationship, enhance understanding, trust and mutual assistance between the two navies.
