Far from about 35 kilometers to the north of Quang Ngai city, Ganh Yen is located in the fishing village of Thanh Thuy village, Binh Hai commune, Binh Son district, Quang Ngai Province. This landscape still retains its wild and magnificent features for years, NLD reported.

It is said that the reason for this landscape named Ganh Yen is due to many small holes of reefs, which bear resemblance with birds' shelter. They sit layer by layer, layer upon layer and create a towering cliff stretching out to the sea.

The combination of sky, clouds, water and black stones with thousands of odd shapes makes a wonderful picture of nature. According to locals, these layers may be resulted from a volcanic eruption millions of years ago.

Especially, at the time of tide receding, extremely beautiful coral reefs are posed in air like thousands of blooming flowers. Local people recommend that visitors should come to Ganh Yen in the dry season to feel the whole beauty of nature.

"At this time the sea recedes and reveal the beautiful coral flowers, starfish with all colors which make people to stray into the fairyland. This scene will appear continuously 2 or 3 times per month as tide recedes. It falls on the first day and the middle of the month, from April to July in lunar calendar", said Mr. Ngo Van Thinh, Chairman of Binh Hai Commune People's Committee, Binh Son district.

In order to protect coral reefs, the local authorities send officials to guide visitors for not to step on reefs. "The locality is calling for and encouraging investors to implement tourism development projects here as well as guiding people to develop community tourism in the form of homestay," said Mr. Thinh.
