June and July are the ideal times to travel and explore Kon Tu Rang. At this time, rice is in full ripening season, gradually turning a beautiful yellow color. From a distance, Kon Tu Rang is as beautiful as a painting amidst the mountains and forests of the Central Highlands.
Le Ngoc Minh, a 25-year-old tour guild living in Kon Tum, always has a special affection for Kon Tu Rang. “There are no words to describe the beautiful scenery at this place. As a guide myself, I have come here many times but it never ceases to amaze me with its tranquil and dreamy look that you can not find anywhere else,” he said.

In Kon Tu Rang, people do not bring rice home but store it in rice warehouses scattered in the fields. In the past, people's houses were often made mainly from wood, bamboo, and thatch. Local villagers were afraid that they would lose everything they had harvested in the unfortunate event of a house fire, so they created this unique method.
Due to geographical reasons, Kon Tu Rang has not attracted many tourists. To get down to the fields, visitors have to walk because the slope is quite high and has sharp turns. For older tourists, this is not an ideal tourist destination.
Currently, Kon Tu Rang does not have accommodation services in the village. If tourists want to stay here, they can consider visiting the 37-household area in Mang Den town. However, the travel distance is quite far and there are many inconveniences related to eating and living.

In addition to watching the golden rice fields, visitors can visit nearby tourist attractions such as Mang Den grass Hill, cafes with views of Ngoc Le mountain range, or Pa Sy waterfall. Although not an ideal tourist destination for families, Kon Tu Rang is still a perfect spot for young travelers who love to explore wild, peaceful nature and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life this summer season.
Kon Tum is located north of the Central Highlands region, bordering Quang Nam, Gia Lai, and Quang Ngai provinces (Vietnam), Sekong and Attapeu provinces of Laos, and Ratanakiri Province of Cambodia.

Delicious specialties in Kon Tum
Leaf salad can be considered a specialty not to be missed when coming to Kon Tum. In the dry season, leaf salad only has about 30-40 types of forest leaves. When the rainy season comes, the leaf salad will have at least 70 types, and it is even estimated that if it is adequate, there must be no less than 100 types of leaves. The salad is served with boiled meat, shrimp, and pork skin. The special dipping sauce is made from a mixture of fermented sticky rice, brewed with dried shrimp and pork belly, and has a rich, light yellow color.
The second famous dish is grilled chicken - lam rice. This is a traditional local dish. Chickens are often raised naturally so the meat is firm. Before grilling, the chicken is stuffed with wild pepper leaves, onions, lemongrass, and chili, so it is fragrant when cooked. The charcoal stove for grilling must be flaming hot, each batch takes about 20 to 30 minutes. Grilled chicken is best when it is hot, the skin is crispy and golden brown, and the meat is fragrant.

Red vermicelli noodle is also a delicious choice for tourists coming to Kon Tum. A bowl of red vermicelli usually includes the main ingredients of crab, meatballs, and boiled quail eggs. The name red vermicelli comes from the color of the vermicelli. The vermicelli is initially white, but after being cooked in a pot of broth, absorbing spices, cashew color, and shrimp color, they become red, bearing the mark of the basalt land.
