During the opening ceremony, Pham Minh Hoang, the Deputy Director of the Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, noted that the relationship between Vietnam and India rests on a robust political and diplomatic base, offering substantial collaborative opportunities. He highlighted that Vinh Long province, in concert with other areas of the country, has been diligently promoting unity and camaraderie with Indian regions, thus aiding in the creation of a favorable legacy between the two countries.

In terms of economic cooperation, Vinh Long has actively expanded multi-faceted cooperation with Indian partners. The province has welcomed and worked with many delegations and businesses from India to survey and learn about cooperation opportunities and the investment and business environment in the locality.

The Vietnam-India Art Exchange program provided a collaborative space for artisans from Vinh Long province and artists and actors from Indian art troupes to interact, share, and deepen their understanding of each nation's folk arts. The initiative sought to enhance the vibrant cultural fabric, nurture friendship and unity, and strengthen productive cooperation between Vinh Long province and its Indian counterparts.

During the event, artists from Vinh Long province showcased performances featuring local elements, including Southern "Don ca tai tu" and Boi singing. Additionally, performers from two Indian art groups presented traditional dances unique to their culture, such as the Odissi and Manipuri dances.

Deputy Consul Tushar Garg of the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City expressed pride in India's vibrant culture, where dance and art are pivotal. The fusion of performances and traditional customs from Vinh Long province and India culminated in a remarkable evening of artistry. This event significantly bolstered cultural appreciation, cooperation, and camaraderie between India and Vietnam, particularly with Vinh Long province.

In the past, the Indian Embassy in Vietnam and the Indian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City have organized numerous art exchange events with various Vietnamese localities, including Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tay Ninh, Dong Nai, among others.
