Prolonged heavy downpours along with water discharge from hydropower plant’s reservoirs have inundated many streets in Hoi An ancient town since mid-October, VNExpress reported.

The photo series captured by two photographers Phan Vu Trong and Do Anh Vu, local residents give a close insight into the daily life in flood season in the ancient town.

Tourism activities in Hoi An resumed in early September following the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic was put under control. However, torrential rains and serious flooding have again suspended its tourism. Boating tours around the town in flood season bring an amount of money for the local.

With the cost of VND100,000 ($4.3) per person, tourists will have the chance to visit Bach Dang, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tran Phu, Phan Chau Trinh streets or the Hoai River to Nguyen Phuc Chu and Nguyen Phuc Nguyen streets.

Boat rides have gained in popularity in the flood season, which often takes place between late October and January annually.
