Boat rides around Hoi An ancient town in flood season

Prolonged heavy downpours along with water discharge from hydropower plant’s reservoirs have inundated many streets in Hoi An ancient town since mid-October, VNExpress reported.

Tourism activities in Hoi An resumed in early September following the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic was put under control. However, torrential rains and serious flooding have again suspended its tourism. Boating tours around the town in flood season bring an amount of money for the local.

With the cost of VND100,000 ($4.3) per person, tourists will have the chance to visit Bach Dang, Hoang Van Thu, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Tran Phu, Phan Chau Trinh streets or the Hoai River to Nguyen Phuc Chu and Nguyen Phuc Nguyen streets.
Boat rides have gained in popularity in the flood season, which often takes place between late October and January annually.

For more than two weeks, the central region has been swept by historic flooding and deadly landslides that caused damage described by government officials as worst in five years.
