Cambodian television: Vietnam Embassy actively participates in preventing COVID-19

Cambodia's CNC channel has recently reported that the Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia had actively joined hands with the host country's authorities in distributing aid to the Vietnamese expats and Cambodian citizens.
Previously, Ambassador Vu Quang Minh has actively used his personal Facebook account to participate with Prime Minister Hun Sen's Government to provide brief, timely and reliable news. Analysts said that this brought great benefits to the Cambodia-Vietnam friendship, especially in the period when the two countries are united against their common enemy: the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last week, when Phnom Penh and many other provinces in Cambodia faced its worst COVID-19 transmission since the beginning of the pandemic, Minh and staff of the Vietnam Embassy and Vietnam Consulate General in Preah Sihanouk actively coordinated with Cambodian competent authorities to distribute money and food to Vietnamese and Cambodian in lockdown areas.

On April 29, the Ambassador and representatives from the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha sent VND 250 million (USD 10,869) to the Cambodian Buddhist Sangha through the Great Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia Samdech Tep Vong in Unalom pagoda. On the same day, through the Ambassador, Khmer-Vietnam Association received a gift of VND 250 million (USD 10,869)from the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City Buddhist Sangha.
The Great Supreme Patriarch of Cambodia Samdech Tep Vong sent a thank you letter to the Buddhist Sangha of Vietnam for its regular concern and support when the Cambodian Buddhist in struggles.
On his personal Facebook, Ambassador Vu Quang Minh wrote that over the past time, the Khmer - Vietnam Association in Cambodia has distributed aids to nearly 4,000 Vietnamese Cambodian households who suffer from COVID-19 pandemic. The Association also has plans to support an additional 4,000 households who are in difficult situations.
Minh said on May 5 that at Le Thanh International Border Gate (Gia Lai), Vietnam Embassy to Cambodia working group received medical supplies, including 100,000 medical masks, 69 antiseptic hand sanitizer boxes, 44 liter of insect repellent solution, 700 mosquito nets, and other imporant materials. The aid was sent from 5th Military Region and Da Nang city to support the Vietnamese in Cambodia to prevent the COVID-19 pandemic as well as diseases spread by mosquito.
