The series of statuses (tweets) on Hua ChunYing's official Twitter page are supposed to be in the purpose of responding to a statement of the South China Sea on July 14, in which US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo rejected most of China's sovereignty claims in the South China Sea and called these illegal claims.

"Pompeo's statement on SouthChinaSea is another proof of US attempts to sow discord between China and other littoral countries. Some basic facts need to be cleared up:" Ms Hua questioned, opening a series of counter- replied tweets on Tuesday's afternoon July 14.
According to her, China has never officially declared a 9- dashed -line claim in the South China Sea in 2009 as the US says. "NineDashedLine was not announced by China in 2009. The first official SouthChinaSea map with interrupted lines was published in 1948 by the Chinese government and handed down by successive governments with no others raising disputes."

However, the "Chinese government" mentioned by Ms Hua was the Republic of China governed by Chiang Kai-shek, who fled to Taiwan after failing in a civil war ending in 1949.
A spokeswoman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs then said that the activities of the Chinese people in the South China Sea had dated back to... 2,000 years ago. "The Chinese people's activities in the SouthChinaSea date back to over 2,000 years ago. China's sovereignty and relevant rights and interests in the South China Sea have been established in the long course of history, solidly grounded in history & law."
There is also an information given by Ms Hua quite strange and monstrous which no one knows its true level. The content was as follows: "Over 70 years ago, China lawfully recovered the Nansha & Xisha Islands illegally occupied by Japan and resumed exercise of sovereignty. As a matter of fact, the military vessels China used in recovering the islands were provided by the US. " she said.

The words:" China recovered the Nansha and Xisha Islands" - the way Beijing calls the Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands of Vietnam - completely inconclusive and has loopholes. Analysts says the two above information is aimed at Washington. The 2,000-year figure is a response to the US's repeated proclamation of the US being an Asia-Pacific nation with a long presence in the South China Sea. If counting from the country's founding, the United States has only experienced more than 240 years.
In 1974, China used force to conquer the Hoang Sa (Paracel) Islands at that time, under the control of the Republic of Vietnam. This point was enough to refute what Ms Hua said her country had "resumed exercise of sovereignty" over the islands after Japan lost the war in 1945.

Perhaps the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson did not remember the event or hasn't studied the history. The evidence in her tweets says that "It is the US, not China, that believes in "might makes right" & resorts to force & intimidation at every turn. It is the US that has waged color revolutions & illegal wars, displacing millions in Iraq, Libya & Afghanistan. China has never started any war".
"China has never started a war," Hua declared. At this point, many people realized that it was not accidental, but that Ms. Hua had deliberately forgotten Beijing's adverse events. She forgot about China's 1962 war with India, ignoring what China did at the Vietnam border in 1979 and the Truong Sa (Spratly) Islands in 1988.
In the remaining tweets, Hua asserted that: China respects the freedom of navigation and overflight in the South China Sea and "China upholds the vision of a community with a shared future for mankind and a neighborhood diplomacy of amity, sincerity, mutual benefit, and inclusiveness". However, in reality, China has just deployed military excercises in the East Sea (South China Sea) and always claims its unlawful sovereignty over other countries' territorial waters, raising tensions in the area.
She continued to criticize the United States "hypocritical" when "The US has not ratified the UNCLOS but keeps accusing China of violating the UNCLOS" while China doesn't even accept a ruling and the judgment by an international tribunal in The Hague came down overwhelmingly in favour of claims by the Philippines. China, in fact, had ignored “basic truths” and “trampled” on international laws and norms.
Besides, the statement that "The US, tens of thousands of miles away from the SouthChinaSea, sent advanced military airplanes to the region to flex its military muscles, which caused instability in the South China Sea. China, as an independent sovereign state, has the right to refuse bullying and injustice.", Hua repeated the old argument, is really to put her feet in her mouth when China has always done many illegal activities and inhuman behaviours in the South China Sea against even other countries' fishermen by sinking their boats and illegally arresting them for its purpose.
