Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Vice President of VUFO, reported that 2024 posed many challenges, but the VUFO system successfully fulfilled its planned objectives. The quantity and quality of activities improved, affirming the role, position, and influence of people-to-people diplomacy in general and the VUFO system in particular. Activities were implemented comprehensively, deepened in substance, expanded in impact, and incorporated new elements. Coordination across the system improved, with member organizations at both the central and local levels prioritizing innovation and enhancing the quality and efficiency of activities.

The Standing Committee and local member organizations diligently adhered to the Central Steering Committee and the Party Committee of the VFF's guidance to review Resolution 18-NQ/TW, dated October 25, 2017, issued by the 12th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, on the restructuring of the political system for streamlined, efficient operations.

Delivering his address at the conference, President of the Central Committee of the VFF Do Van Chien said Vietnam's comprehensive achievements in overcoming challenges and meeting socio-economic objectives in 2024. These achievements were credited to the collective efforts of the entire Party, people, and military, with the vital role of three pillars, including Party diplomacy, state diplomacy, and people-to-people diplomacy. He acknowledged VUFO’s contributions to the VFF’s activities in 2024.

For 2025, the VFF President proposed that VUFO actively contribute to drafting documents for the Party Congress at all levels, with a focus on diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy. Under the motto "Thinking deeply and acting big”, VUFO must clearly define its objectives, methods of implementation, and the responsible parties to join the entire Party, people, and armed forces in entering a new era of development, building a prosperous country and ensuring the happiness of its people. Furthermore, VUFO must continue implementing Resolution 18-NQ/TW effectively, ensuring unity and consensus while enhancing the political system’s understanding of the role and mission of people-to-people diplomacy and VUFO.
