More than 2.14 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 143,744 have died, according to a Reuters tally. The original epicentre of the virus outbreak in Europe, Italy has the world's highest coronavirus death toll with more than 22,000 fatalities, second only to the United States. The number of officially confirmed cases climbed to 168,941, the third highest global tally behind those of the United States and Spain. |
