On that basis, the Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism proposed that the two sides strengthen solidarity between the people of the two countries, starting from developing cooperation in the cultural field, encouraging the promotion of the image of each country and its people; promoting cooperation in culture, sports and tourism through information exchange, participation in cultural festivals and tourism fairs between the two countries.
Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong affirmed that the long geographical distance and the lack of direct flights between the two countries are not barriers between the two sides. The two countries can coordinate to organize exhibitions, online film weeks and cultural exchange activities.
Zimbabwe can send individuals or groups of artists to attend international art festivals in Vietnam such as the International Dance Festival, International Film Festival, etc. Vietnam invites Zimbabwe to attend the Vietnam International Tourism Fair and the Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair. Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong suggested that the two sides support each other at multilateral forums on culture, sports and tourism such as UNESCO...
The Ambassador said that many Zimbabwean tourism businesses are interested in the Vietnamese market and are waiting for an official invitation from Vietnam. In September, Zimbabwe will hold an important international conference on tourism and wishes to invite Vietnamese businesses to participate.
Vietnam and Zimbabwe established diplomatic relations in 1981, just one year after Zimbabwe declared independence in 1980. Since then, the two countries have maintained good relations and supported each other at multilateral forums. In 2001, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe paid an official visit to Vietnam.
