Embassies to Jointly Celebrate Festivals and the 50th Anniversary of Vietnam - India Diplomatic Relations
On the occasion of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - India diplomatic ties, the Embassy of India in Hanoi and the Embassy of Vietnam in NewDelhi jointly celebrated the festivals and the 50th anniversary of Vietnam - India diplomatic relations at India's Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre on the afternoon of Feb 8 in Hanoi. The celebration was attended by Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung; Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga - President of Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO); Ambassador of Vietnam to India Pham Sanh Chau; Most Venerable Thich Duc Thien, General Secretary of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Chairman of the Vietnam-India Friendship Association; and Chairman of People’s Committee of Hai Duong Province Trieu The Hung.

India - a friend of the most importance and trust
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Quoc Dung expressed his happiness and pleasure to participate in the celebration and emphasized the traditional friendship between the two countries with deep historical roots as well as the bilateral relation elevation to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. The two countries share long and rich cultural and civilizational ties, and work towards many common values of patriotism, humanistic traditions, and peace loving. In term of trade and investment, India has now become one of the top ten trading partners of Vietnam. Moreover, when faced with complex development of Covid 10 pandemic in 2021, the two nations and peoples have shown strong resilience and coordination to assist each other during the difficult time.
The Vietnamese Deputy Minister said that though Vietnam and India were jointly celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations throughout the year 2022, two countries' initial contacts were actually noted more than 2000 years ago through cultural, religious and people-to-people linkages and those encounteres have enriched the culture of Vietnam.

"On regional and international cooperation, I am delighted to note that we have shared our common views in many strategic and critical issues and working hard together striving for peace, security and prosperous development in the region and beyond", said him.
Continue nurturing our friendship to build up our very good relations
VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga in her speech at the ceremony saying that this year we are celebrating a lot of events and we are working together to organize a lot of meetings, events to celebrate our relations in a very practical way.
"We receive the support of the two embassies and ambassadors, all delegates here and all our partners in Vietnam and India to nurture our friendship, to build up our very good relations so that our two nations can enjoy the fruitful results and achievements of our relations and make contribution to our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, to the peace and stability of the region and the world.", said the VUFO President.

Also, Indian Ambassador to Vietnam Pranay Verma said that 2022 was an important milestone to celebrate Vietnam - India relations, which didn't come always, it only came once in 50 years.

“It is great that we can sit together and celebrate the relationship between the two countries in 2022 because it only comes once every 50 years. The relationship between the two countries will be further tightened and promoted through interaction. On this occasion, I had the opportunity to visit the mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh with Vietnamese friends, visited the commemorative tree at Tran Quoc Pagoda, which was planted in 1959 when the late President of India visited Vietnam in 1959.. Those things are meaningful and I am really glad. That is why we will always continue to promote and tighten that lasting friendship” , said the Indian Ambassador to Vietnam.
