The Aerial Photography Awards (APA) contest 2020 attracted thousands of photos from 65 countries and territories in the world. Photographers used various ways to capture aerial photos such as drone camera, helicopter, kite, hot air balloon or even plane.
Five impressive photos taken by four Vietnamese photographers won prizes.

"The Lady of Sea" by Vietnamese photographer Duy Sinh ranked first in the top 5 most beautiful photos in the category of People / Daily Life. This picture is captured as a fishing boat drop a net and accidentally the waves pull the edges of the net into a lady on the blue sea, VNExpress reported.

The "Anchovy catching" photo by photographer Thien Nguyen ranked second in the top 5 most beautiful photos in the category of People / Daily Life. The gentle light of a new day illuminates the smoke emitted from the fishing boat engine and the shapes of green nets moving as the local fishermen pulling the nets. Anchovy catching is a familiar image in the coastal province of Phu Yen. The salted anchovy is the most important ingredient to make the traditional fish sauce - the quintessence of Vietnamese cuisine.

“Harvesting grass” photo by Khanh Phan (Vietnam) was also awarded in People / Daily Life category. The field of grass under the wind looks like the waves. The grass is over 1 meter. The ten-hectare grass field is home to abundant fauna. The grass is cut to feed cattle and sometimes used as fertilizer and moisturizes the ornamental trees. The locals also raise ducks on the pasture.

Photo of terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai in the northern province of Yen Bai by Thien Nguyen ranked 4th in the top 5 best photos in the category of Nature / Landscape. The author shared that in September and October, terraced fields in Mu Cang Chai turn yellow. This is also the best time to capture the scenery of terraced fields.

Taking the lead in the category of Society/ World during social distancing due to COVID-19 pandemic is the photo capturing an apartment block in Hanoi (Vietnam) hung up with the national flags to support the country’s COVID-19 fight. The image was shot by Prabu Mohan, an Indian living in Hanoi.

The special prize belonged to Sebastien Nagy (Belgium), who was also honored as the aerial photographer of 2020. Pictured above is "Astract Greece" in the architecture category.
