On March 12, Aone Deutschland AG Group of Germany and AquaOne Water Joint Stock Company of Vietnam signed a framework agreement at the town hall of Leipzig city (Saschen state), for the construction of the Vam Co River Surface Water Plant, east in Long An

The completed project will help supply and meet the water needs for production and daily life in the regions in this province.

According to the Vietnam News Agency in Germany, in the presence of the Mayor of Leipzig, Mr. Burkhardt Jung and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Nguyen Minh Vu, the President of Aone Deutschland Group, Mr. Christophe Hug, and the Chairman of the joint stock company AquaOne, Ms. Do Thi Kim Lien, signed an economic and technical agreement with key terms for the construction of the Vam Co Dong River Surface Water Plant.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Burkhardt Jung expressed his pleasure when the signing ceremony was held while Germany and Vietnam has just celebrated the 45th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

According to him, the relationship between the two countries is increasingly strengthened and developed in all aspects, both cultural, sport and economic. The signing of a specific agreement on water plant construction is to realize the strategic partnership between the two countries and at the same time demonstrate the good relationship between Leipzig and Ho Chi Minh City.

Regarding the just signed agreement, Mr. Jung emphasized that water is a minimum and important need for people and having clean water for daily activities is important for the people as well as for the development in general. of Vietnam.

For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Vu expressed his pleasure at the good development in the relationship between Vietnam and Germany in general, especially between Leipzig and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

The Ambassador emphasized that despite the many limitations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperation between Germany and Vietnam continues to be strengthened, in which the two sides' enterprises signed a cooperation agreement to build water plants in Vietnam. Long An province is a testament to this.

The Ambassador said that with the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and Vietnam (EVFTA) coming into effect and the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) will take effect in the coming time, economic, trade and investment cooperation between enterprises of the two sides will be increasingly developed.

On this occasion, the Ambassador also thanked Leipzig Mayor Burkhardt Jung for always paying attention to the development of relations with Vietnam as well as with the Vietnamese community in Leipzig.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ms. Do Thi Kim Lien said that the Vam Co Dong River Surface Water Plant will apply modern technology in managing, operating and monitoring clean water production and supply systems; ensure quality, safety, meet all strict construction requirements for the local infrastructure system according to the trend of developing industrial parks and smart cities, eco-cities and the revolution. 4th industrial network.

Meanwhile, Aone Deutschland President, Mr. Christophe Hug, emphasized that the group wishes to share the most advanced technologies and processes in clean water production with all regions in developing countries.

According to him, this not only contributes to promoting cooperation between sectors with large cities and cities, but also provides practical livelihood benefits for the people, while at the same time fulfilling a commitment to supporting sustainable development. Sustainable and environmentally friendly.

The water treatment plant will be built on an area of 71.5 hectares in Duc Hoa District, Long An at an estimated cost of nearly 5 trillion VND.

Its first phase is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2023 with a designed capacity of 200,000 cu.m per day and night. The second phase, scheduled to finish by 2025, will have a capacity of 300,000 cu.m per day and night. Its total capacity can reach 1.2 million cu.m per day and night once all stages of investment completed.

The above-mentioned water treatment plant construction project is considered urgent, contributing to meeting water demand for production and daily life in the regions of Long An province in the context of the Mekong Delta. facing the risks of climate change, increasingly severe natural disasters, drought and saltwater intrusion in this area.
