Increase Vitamin C intake: Vitamin C is an antioxidant that boosts the immune system. Consuming more foods high in vitamin C such as oranges, lemons, kiwi, spinach help you better immunize against common colds, flu, and other health issues during winter.

Eating warm foods: A warm bowl of soup or a hot cup of tea would definitely warm up, preventing your body temperature from falling low.

Increase protein intake: During the cold season, people are more craving for a bite, which might risk gaining weight, becoming overweight, and many other diseases. Increasing the amount of protein will trick your stomach to feel full for a longer time and consume fewer calories.

Say no to hearty meals: lavish meals coupled with a sedentary lifestyle would increase the risk of overweight, obesity, heart diseases, diabetes, etc.

Eat more green veggies and fruits: Adding more green vegetables and fruits to the diet helps to boost the immune system and reduce the risk of overweight and obesity. You should also limit greasy foods or dishes high in sugar and preservatives.

Drink herbal teas: Herbal teas such as ginger tea, cinnamon tea, licorice tea or chamomile tea would guard you against the biting cold weather. In the meantime, the habit would boost your resistance and reduce cold symptoms such as cough and sore throat.

Drink enough water: Many people often "forget" to drink water in winter, which leads to many health problems such as dry skin, kidney stones. Make sure to drink enough 1.5 - 2 liters of water per day for overall health protection.

Say no to greasy foods: Greasy foods might accumulate fat in your body. With the habit of being inactive in winter, this excess fat can cause a myriad of health problems such as obesity, heart disease, gastritis, or diarrhea.

Drink wine in moderation: Wine is an excellent winter cooking ingredient. Research has shown that wine has the potential to boost heart health in winter if consumed in moderate amounts.
