The naming demonstrates the respect for Vietnam’s late leader as well as the solidarity, friendship, loyalty and close ties between people of the two countries, Xuan noted.
Comiche expressed pride and honor because the capital Maputo has an avenue named after President Ho Chi Minh, the great leader and national hero of Vietnam. He said preserving Ho Chi Minh Avenue as well as the avenue's nameplate named after him is a joint effort and action continuously carried out by both sides.
Chairman Comiche emphasized that Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan's opening of the new nameplate for Ho Chi Minh Avenue is a meaningful event, encouraging the two countries’ people, especially young generations, to preserve and promote the good friendship, and foster cooperation in the time ahead.
Ho Chi Minh Avenue is more than 1km long, passing through the city hall of the capital Maputo. This road also cuts through some of Maputo's main and famous streets such as Karl Marx Street and Lenin Street. The avenue lined with acacia trees is typical of Maputo city and is a road that always leaves good feelings with the Mozambican people as well as tourists.
