Overseas Vietnamese in Israel join hands to support Vietnam against Covid-19

The Vietnamese embassy in Israel has launched a movement to donate at least one day's salary per person, to contribute to the prevention and control of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

As soon as the movement was launched, the Vietnamese community living, studying and working in Israel enthusiastically responded.

Many Vietnamese, despite their busy work, have been to the Vietnamese Embassy to contribute.

Students at agricultural centers in Israel also organize collective fundraising activities in their communities, with the help of Israeli and international friends. Israeli students and friends do not mind the long journey from the southern desert of Israel to the embassy.

Vietnamese community in Germany supports Vietnam amid Covid-19

The Berlin Golden Lotus Charity Association has recently connected the Vietnamese community in Germany to continue supporting their homeland during the Covid-19 crisis. The association has made positive contributions to the socio-economic life of the host country, becoming a bridge between the two peoples, as well as contributing to the growing friendship between Vietnam and Germany.

The association's regular activities are always directed towards Vietnam. Every year, the association organizes the construction of roads, bridges, schools and flood relief. The association pays special attention to activities for children such as giving scholarships to children, organizing the Mid-Autumn Festival and giving Tet gifts to children in ethnic minority areas. It also helps the elderly, orphans, disabled, and families of war invalids and martyrs. Every week, the association distributes porridge and milk at a cardiology department at a hospital in Hanoi.

The association has organized 12 mask sewing points in many places in Germany.

The association donated a series of masks to hospitals, schools, nursing homes, offices and people. They also bought masks shipped from Vietnam to give to the city of Berlin along with gloves and disinfectant spray.

"Before the Covid-19 pandemic, German people hardly used masks. The sewing and donation of masks to German people is contributing to helping them be aware of protecting their own health as well as everyone around," said President Duong Thi Bich Ngoc.

From the beginning of the year the association has continued to work such as by distributing porridge at Hanoi E Hospital, as well as giving warm clothes, blankets and instant noodles to Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces. In Germany, the association supports Vietnamese people who are in trouble or seriously ill and want to return to Vietnam

Responding to the call of the president and prime minister, the association called on Vietnamese people in Germany to support Vietnam's vaccine fund. The total temporary amount is about 20,000 euros equivalent to VND 560 million (US$ 24,328). The money will be sent to the Vietnamese embassy in Germany to be transferred to Vietnam.
