Overseas Vietnamese Respectfully Pay Tribute To The Hung Kings
On April 8, 2022, 31 outstanding overseas Vietnamese from 16 countries offered incense to pay respects to Hung Kings at the Hung Kings Temple. This is a meaningful activity that connects overseas Vietnamese to their ancestors and builds a nation country.
Hung Kings Temple is a complex of majestic buildings located on Nghia Linh Mountain, in Phong Chau District, Phu Tho Province. At this ancestral site, the delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Pham Quang Hieu. The delegation offered incense to the Hung Kings Ha Temple, Trung Temple, Thuong Temple, Gieng Temple and Lac Long Quan National Ancestor Temple.

Hung King is the title given to the ancient Vietnamese rulers of the Hong Bang period (2879–258 BC). They were the kings of Van Lang. The worshiping rituals of the Hung Kings was recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2012.
"On the occasion of Hung Kings Festival, the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs usually organizes this activity for outstanding overseas Vietnamese to pay tribute to legendary nation founders. This is also the aspiration of people all over the world. After two years of being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2022, according to the wishes of the overseas Vietnamese, we cooperate with the People's Committee of Phu Tho province to organize an overseas delegation to offer incense at Hung Kings Temple. ones from 16 around the world."
"People return to the land of their ancestors with the mind toward the homeland with many meaningful activities. This is also an activity that shows the great national unity, the Party and State leaders' concern for overseas Vietnamese," said Deputy Minister and Chairman of the State Committee on Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Pham Quang Hieu.

The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in Phu Tho Nguyen Hai Chairman warmly welcomes the delegation to attend the Hung Kings Festival in 2022. He also briefed the delegation on the province's socio-economic development in recent times and future orientations, notable outcomes of the conservation and development of two cultural heritages of the worship of Hung Kings and Xoan singing of the locality.
He appreciates contributions by overseas Vietnamese to the achievements of Vietnam and Phu Tho in particular, hoping that they will further engage in the activities facilitating the development of economy, science, and education.
Traditionally, Phu Tho Province regularly maintains and strengthens the bilateral cooperation with many localities of countries around the world such as Nara (Japan), Hwaseong (South Korea), Luong Nam Tha (Laos). Currently, Phu Tho is promoting the signing of cooperation agreements with provinces and cities of countries such as Italy, France and Thailand. It also strengthens relations with Vietnam's diplomatic missions abroad to organize investment, trade and tourism promotion activities; to step up the establishment of cooperative and friendly relations between the provinces and foreign localities, corporations, enterprises and international organizations.
