	India and Vietnam's Tien Giang Province Seek Cooperation Opportunities

The People's Committee of Thanh Loc and Phu Cuong communes in Cai Lay district, Tien Giang province, in coordination with the VK (Overseas Vietnamese) Group on December 28 organized the inauguration ceremony of the friendship bridge VK 283, also known as the 8 Bi bridge.

The VK 283 Bridge is 22 meters long and 3 meters wide, with a total construction cost of about VND 305 million (USD 11.980). Of which, the VK Group sponsored VND 235 million (USD 9.230). The remaining cost will be mobilized from the local people. This is an important traffic project, contributing to improving travel for local people, especially students.

Speaking at the ceremony, Tra Huu Nguyen, vice chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Loc commune, shared that this is the second bridge that the VK Group supported the locality to build. The project ensures quality, promises long-term service, and brings practical benefits to the local people.

Nguyen Thi Yen Thu, deputy head of VK Group, said that, established in 2004 by overseas Vietnamese from Canada, the US, France, Japan and Australia, VK Group aimed to build 10 bridges for the Mekong Delta region. Thanks to the enthusiastic support from the community, to date, VK Group has built and put into operation 282 bridges, with a total length of more than 7,500 meters and a total value of about VND 44 billion (USD 1.7 million). With VK 283 Bridge, VK Group has built 25 rural traffic bridges in Tien Giang province.

The bridge serves the long-term travel needs of the local people.

These projects have significantly contributed to improving traffic, and improving the lives and economic development of local people, she said, adding the VK 283 bridge is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity and valuable support from the overseas Vietnamese community for their homeland Vietnam.
