Quang Nam Hosts Exhibition on Hoang Sa, Truong Sa

Speaking at the event, Director of Quang Nam Provincial Museum Tran Van Duc believed this is one of the activities that continues to focus on propagating the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on issues related to the sea and islands.

The exhibition is an important information and communication activity that contributes to raising awareness, solidarity and responsibility of the people, especially the youth in protecting and affirming Vietnam's sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly Islands through published historical and legal documents.

The maps and documents provide and introduce the historical and legal evidences affirming Vietnam's sovereignty, thereby enhancing the propagation and fostering of love for the sea and islands, the homeland and the country. This event aims to raise awareness, responsibility and joint actions to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland in the construction and protection of the country.

Visitors can view many published sources of domestic and international researchers and scholars. They are Han Nom documents, Vietnamese and French documents issued by the Vietnamese feudal court from the 17th century to the beginning of the 20th century, affirming that Vietnam has established and exercised continuous sovereignty over the Paracel and Spratly Islands.

For example, there are 20 copies of the Nguyen Dynasty dating from the Gia Long Dynasty (1802 - 1819) to the Bao Dai Dynasty (1925 - 1945); 4 atlases (maps) published by the Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China..

The exhibition will last until October 18 and is expected to welcome nearly 1,500 visitors.
