Hanoi, Vietnam's capital city, made it into the top 15 destinations. Other cities in the top 15 are Bangkok and Phuket (Thailand), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Nagoya (Japan), Barcelona (Spain), Kyoto (Japan), Paris (France), New York (US), Sydney (Australia), Shanghai (China) and Munich (Germany).

The survey also analyzed preferences by gender and age for each of these cities. Specifically, Phu Quoc Island is more popular with women, representing a rate of 67% of the survey data.

Earlier this year, popular beach destinations like An Bang (Hoi An), Da Nang and Nha Trang were voted some of Asia's most beautiful beaches by the readers of the popular travel site Tripadvisor. Vietnamese sandy beaches attract a large number of international visitors during the peak tourism season, Tripadvisor reported.
