In response to the request of the task of protecting the country's sovereignty over sea and islands in the new situation, on October 12, 2001, at Military Port Base 696, Nhon Trach, Dong Nai, the Naval Service solemnly held a ceremony on Ship 381 , before the ship missile was transferred to Brigade 162, Naval Region 4. Ship 381 is the first anti-ship patrol ship built in the country according to the technology transfer line of the Russian Federation.

Honored and proud to be on duty on the first modern battleship designed and built by Vietnam, generations of officers and soldiers of Ship 381, Brigade 162, Naval Region 4 always strive to overcome all difficulties, successfully completed the task of protecting the country's sovereignty over seas and islands.
Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Loc, one of the people who have been with the Ship 381 for the past 20 years, still can't hide his emotions when he recalls the day when 20 years ago, he and other officers and soldiers first received, transported the ship and operated a very modern ship of the Vietnamese Navy at that time.
“It is impossible to tell all the difficulties and challenges of the first days of training, getting used to the new equipment and weapons equipped on the ship. After a short time, with the efforts of each officer and the help of Russian experts, we quickly mastered the ship. Since then, for the past 20 years, I have been attached to this ship, which is like my second home,” said Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Loc.
Learning and working on ship 381 is the honor and pride of every soldier, because they are responsible for participating in training and receiving the most modern class of ships of the Vietnam People's Navy at the time. Each officer and soldier is carefully selected by the Army from the units in the whole force.

With high mobility, strong firepower and good stealth, Ship 381 has the task of patrolling, reconnaissance, independent combat or synergistic with strike forces to destroy air and sea targets to protect the sovereignty of the sea and islands. |
Captain Nguyen Xuan Thong, captain of Ship 381 said: Along with the mission of combat training, ready to fight, ready to anchor and leave the dock to perform the task in any weather conditions and at any time, every officer and soldier of 381 ship always strives with the highest spirit.
Dang Ngoc Ut Thuong, deputy captain of Ship 381 shared that, in addition to performing many tasks well, over the years, Ship 381 has always been a bright spot in implementing the campaign "managing and exploiting weapons with good technical equipment, durability, safety" , and traffic safety." The 381 ship's officers and soldiers have had initiatives to research and improve techniques to increase the ship's exploitation coefficient, meeting the mission requirements in the new situation.

On the 20th anniversary of the ship's founding, the Party Committee and commander of the Brigade 162 were proud to join the staff and soldiers of the Ship 381 when they were proud to receive the Third-class Fatherland Defense Order. It is the result of the strength of solidarity, determination to train well, strict discipline, and high combat readiness during the past years which have been recognized by the Party, State, Ministry of Defense, Armed Forces and Naval Region 4.
There is a very special thing about Ship 381 that on the 20-year journey that has passed, officers and soldiers of ship 381 are proud to have 3 comrades who have become generals in the Vietnam People's Army and are currently holding the position of senior leaders of the Armed Forces; The Prime Minister awarded the Certificate of Merit "For outstanding achievements in training, combat service, building the People's Army force, consolidating national defense from 2009 to 2011," and many other noble awards.
