Nguyen Ngoc Tran, the photographer behind the photo series, was born and raised in the ancient capital of Hue, central Vietnam. The love and endless passion for nature, landscapes, historical sites, unique culture, and rich cuisine of the ancient capital, Tran still makes use of her free time to going around, capturing every corner of her hometown regardless of her busy schedule. Tran spent a lot of time focusing on taking photos of the iconic Truong Tien Bridge, from dawn to dusk.

“The bridge has long been the soul of Hue. No matter how many times we’ve been crossing Truong Tien Bridge, we still feel a sense of pride and love for the surrounding beauty”, Tran told VNE.
Truong Tien Bridge is considered a symbol and center of the ancient capital, connecting the two banks of the South and the North. Its construction was completed in 1899 under the reign of King Thanh Thai. It spans for around 400m long and 6m wide.

Truong Tien Bridge boasts a different beauty in different time of the day. Even though there are always streams of traffic milling around, the bridge still gives a tranquil, poetic vibe, especially with the poetic Perfume River and the city view nearby.

The scene of people walking, cycling around, the cyclo riders and traders traveling from both ends, to and from Dong Ba market, depicts the peaceful, rustic corner of Hue.

Florists carrying baskets of flowers on their shoulders, walking by every morning has become quite familiar scenes of many locals.

Every day, the florists have to rise up bright and early to go cut the dewy flowers on the fields, then quickly carry them to the market or on the sidewalk to sell.

Locals often gather on two sides of the park, and the pedestrian street on both ends of the bridge to do exercise in the morning and late afternoon.

The old phoenix tree at the southern end of Truong Tien Bridge attracts a lot of attention from youngsters thanks to its poetic scene. The phoenix tree swaying in the wind by the Perfume River has become kind of a symbol of Truong Tien Bridge. Standing under its shade while admiring the tranquility of Perfume River would be an absolutely relaxing experience.
