The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy provided medical supplies to support the host country against COVID-19

“ Recently, the name- Vietnam - well known for an example of successful COvid-19 disease prevention and also shows its solidarity and international responsibility and cooperation during the fight against COVID-19. That intenational support spirit has spread from the Government to every citizen, to associations and businesses, demonstrating the solidarity traditions of Vietnamese people. Many organizations, businesses and individuals in Vietnam have participated in donating and delivering medical supplies in support of Italy ”.
The Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Thi Bich Hue in an interview with the VNA reporter in Rome this weekend shared her opinions about the Embassy's efforts to "join hands" with the native community to fight against the COVID- 19.

The Ambassador said that the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy has been actively involved in mobilizing medical supplies within the country to support Italy. On April 17, the flight carrying more than 100 thousand masks given to Italy by Vietnam Government landing in Milan also brought 23,000 masks, 500 protective suits and 400 mica shields - medical supplies mobilized donations from other associations, businesses and individuals in Vietnam such as Prowtech International Vina and Sunflower by The Vietnamese Embassy in Italy to support the host country.
Previously, the Centre for academic promotion and orientation of study in Italy (Unitalia) and the Vietnam-Italy Friendship Association also transferred to the Embassy 8,500 masks to support the Italian side.
According to the Ambassador, businesses, associations and individuals in Vietnam falling in love for Italy, including those never set foot in the boot-shaped country have acted with all their heart and Vietnamese "solidarity" tradition. They have actively competed against time of unmanaged day and night to transport, pack and do all the procedures for the above medical supplies brought from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi picked up the flight to Italy on April 17 within only 4 days.
These valuable medical supplies have been delivered directly to Vietnamese people and students from all over Italy, to the local Civil Protection Agency in the epidemic center like Lombardy Region, the Palermo, Mantova, Torino ... to hospitals, nursing homes, police departments in Rome, Italy - Vietnam Friendship Association, Italian Communist Party, Italian Communist Party branch in Veneto Region, Catania, Dante Cultural Exchange Center, several universities as well as Italian parents adopting Vietnamese and many other friends in the host country.
The state leaders, the Italian government, local governments, the Vietnamese community and many friends from the host countries all expressed their appreciation for Vietnam's valuable assistance to Italy in these days considered most difficult in the Italian history since World War II. Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte and Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio expressed their thanks to Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Vietnam Government and people for the standing by Italy in the fight against Covid-19.
The Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this support affirmed the practical significance of the Vietnam-Italy strategic partnership. “Vietnam's assistance will obviously contribute to support Italy's success and sooner recovery. The Italian people always remember Vietnam's kindness and solidarity ".
Italy is currently the third highest number of SARS-CoV-2 cases in the world, following the US and Spain. As of May 9, the country has recorded 218,268 cases and 30,395 deaths of the COVID-19.
