Top Legislator Meets Leaders of India’s Political Parties

During his meeting with General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI) D. Raja, NA Chairman Hue underlined that the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) always highly values the Vietnam-India ties, especially the relations with the CPI, according to NDO.
In reply, D. Raja affirmed to support and solidarity with Vietnam, stressing that in the current period, it is important to bolster cooperation between the two Parties.
The two sides discussed international and regional issues of mutual concern, including the East Sea/South China Sea issue. They agreed that disputes in the East Sea must be resolved by peaceful measures in accordance with international law, notably the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
Receiving General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M) Sitaram Yechury, the NA Chairman said that the CPV and the CPI-M have nurtured a traditional, close-knit and trustful friendship, voicing his hope that the Indian political party will continue to support the development of the bilateral relations.
For his part, Yechury said the CPI-M has and will call on other political parties in India to step up relations with Vietnam.
The top legislator took the occasion to invite Yechury to visit Vietnam, which the latter accepted with pleasure.
Meeting with leaders of the Indian National Congress (INC), NA Chairman Hue emphasized that Vietnam is always a loyal friend of India, and asked INC leaders to continue promoting the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership to a new height in the coming time, meeting the aspiration of the countries’ people.
INC leaders affirmed that the party always supports Vietnam and appreciates the country’s achievements under the leadership of the CPV.
They expressed the wish that the two parties will hold practical activities to commemorate the 50th founding anniversary of the India-Vietnam diplomatic ties next year.
The Chairman and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese NA left Hanoi on Dec. 12 morning for official visits to the Republic of Korea (RoK) and India. The visits, which will last from Dec. 12-19, are being made at the invitations of Speaker of the Korean National Assembly Park Byeong-seug, Speaker of the Lok Sabha (House of Representatives) of India Om Birla, and Chairman of the Rajya Sabha (Upper House) of India Venkaiah Naidu.
Hue is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai; Secretary-General of the NA and Head of the NA Office Bui Van Cuong; Chairman of the NA Committee for External Relations Vu Hai Ha; and Head of the NA Standing Committee’s Board for Deputy Affairs and President of the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association Nguyen Thi Thanh. Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung; Minister of Environment and Natural Resources Tran Hong Ha; Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung; and Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tung also joined the delegation. |
Hue arrived in New Delhi on December 15, starting his official visit to India at the invitations of Speaker of the House of Representatives of India Om Birla and Chairman of the Upper House Venkaiah Naidu, VGP said.

The same day, the NA Chairman visited the Vietnamese Embassy in New Delhi and met the Vietnamese community in India, according to VietnamPlus.
The top legislator emphasized that the Vietnam-India comprehensive strategic partnership continues to develop robustly across all pillars, achieving high efficiency and reliability.
He said his current visit aims to make a contribution to efforts made by the countries’ Parties, States, and peoples in deepening the partnership.

Hue stated given the complicated developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Vietnamese Party and State, with the spirit of leaving no one behind, have promptly implemented support measures, including the organization of nearly 200 flights to carry home more than 53,000 Vietnamese citizens from over 50 countries and territories.
He affirmed that overseas Vietnamese is an indispensable part of Vietnam.
