Kazuyo Watanabe expressed her happiness and pride when honored by the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province as an honorary citizen of the province.
"About 20 years ago, when I first came to Hue Central Hospital, the Oncology Unit of the Pediatrics Department was very small, with only 10 inpatients a day, and only a few children with cancer had been received treatments. And after 20 years, the Pediatric Oncology Department has become bigger with 100 inpatients a day, with many children with cancer being cured and returned to the community. In particular, children are our future, their smiles and health are the most valuable source of encouragement," recalled Watanabe.
Watanabe hopes that in the coming time, she will continue to accompany Hue Central Hospital in many more programs and projects to contribute to bringing a better life to the land she has been attached to and consider it my second home.
