The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) exchanged experience in Party building and leading national development at a symposium on September 28.

The event was co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), and the Central Party School of the CPC, both in-person and online formats.

At the symposium, Le Hoai Trung, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, emphasised the friendship, comradeship and fraternity between the two Parties.

In their opening speeches, Le Hoai Trung, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, and Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, noted the event represents an important chance for both sides to share experience in Party building and national development, and exchange views on measures to further develop the comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership between the two countries.

The symposium came hot on the heels of the September 24 phone talks held between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, during which the pair reached common consensus on orientations to boost exchanges and ties between the two parties and countries, according to the VOV.

Both sides duly expressed a strong desire to promote practical and effective exchanges, and build political trust to develop the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership in a healthy, stable, and sustainable manner, so as to bring about practical benefits for the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, co-operation, and development in the region and the wider world.
