Vietnam, China Exchanges Experience in Party Building and National Development

The Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and the Communist Party of China (CPC) exchanged experience in Party building and leading national development at a symposium on September 28.
The event was co-organised by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), and the Central Party School of the CPC, both in-person and online formats.
At the symposium, Le Hoai Trung, head of the CPV Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations and Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the CPC Central Committee, emphasised the friendship, comradeship and fraternity between the two Parties.
In their opening speeches, Le Hoai Trung, head of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee’s Commission for External Relations, and Song Tao, head of the International Liaison Department of the Chinese Communist Party, noted the event represents an important chance for both sides to share experience in Party building and national development, and exchange views on measures to further develop the comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership between the two countries.
The symposium came hot on the heels of the September 24 phone talks held between Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and Chinese Party General Secretary and President Xi Jinping, during which the pair reached common consensus on orientations to boost exchanges and ties between the two parties and countries, according to the VOV.
Both sides duly expressed a strong desire to promote practical and effective exchanges, and build political trust to develop the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperation Partnership in a healthy, stable, and sustainable manner, so as to bring about practical benefits for the two peoples, contributing to peace, stability, co-operation, and development in the region and the wider world.

Both sides expressed their wish to deepen cooperation and exchanges pragmatically and effectively across spheres, intensify political trust, and further advance the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership in a healthy, stable and sustainable manner, bringing practical interests to people of the two countries and contributing to peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world at large, said the vietnamplus.

Addressing the event, Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member and President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics of Vietnam, congratulated China on the remarkable achievements it has recorded in national development during the past 100 years under the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party.
He expressed his belief that China will cultivate greater successes in national development moving forward as it strives to become a great modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced, harmonious, and beautiful.

Thang informed the Chinese side about the recent Vietnamese Party building work, especially after the 13th National Party Congress, along with the country’s achievements in national development and international integration. He expressed a desire to promote theoretical exchanges between the two parties in general, with a clear focus on the two party schools of the two countries.
Meanwhile, Chen Xi, Politburo member and President of the Chinese Party School, reviewed China’s major centenary achievements, affirming the Chinese desire to promote ties of good traditional friendship and the comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership with Vietnam.

He stressed the view on strengthening the traditional friendship as well as prospect of the bilateral comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between the two Parties and States.
On this occasion, the HCMA and the Chinese school signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the time ahead.
Both sides examined historical achievements of the two communist parties, exchanged experiences in party building work, and looked at the prospect of joint co-operation moving forward.
As part of the occasion, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics of Vietnam and the Party School of Chinese Communist Party Central Committee signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation, outlining areas of exchanges in the future.
